Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, 2200 W. Old Shakopee Road, will screen the documentary "My Omaha" Thursday, July 23 at 6:30 p.m. as part of the church's third annual Better Together Film Festival.

"My Omaha" follows filmmaker Nick Beaulieu as he documents Black Lives Matter activism in his hometown of North Omaha, Nebraska, where he's introduced to the birthplace of Malcolm X and to activist Leo Louis II. The film weaves that reporting with Beaulieu's own strained relationship with his father, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer during filming, as the two try to find common ground across a widening political and racial divide.

The screening is part of the Better Together Film Festival, a series coordinated by the Minnesota Council of Churches that pairs values-based films with community discussion. Each screening is followed by a facilitated conversation meant to help attendees reflect together, and admission is free.

Details and registration are available through the church's event listing.
