Arendelle is coming to Kennedy. The Kennedy Theatre Company is rehearsing its production of Frozen, and the district shared photos from the cast's choreography rehearsal this week. They promised the show "will melt your heart with their stellar performances." Groan if you need to, but the photos show a cast working hard on the dance numbers.

Bloomington Public Schools said in the post that tickets are on sale and attached a ticket link. If you want seats, the post's ticket link is the place to go for now.

This isn't Kennedy's first time with this story. In December 2019, Kennedy staged Frozen Jr., the shorter version of the show, in the Kennedy Auditorium under director Nick Hayes, according to the school's student newspaper. That production used Disney Theatrical's official script and songs from the Broadway version. Students in it put in an average of 3 to 6 hours a day, depending on their roles. Hayes told the paper that "theatre is a powerful education tool" built on "teamwork, communication, collaboration."

The musical is based on the Disney film. It follows sisters Anna and Elsa as they find their way back to each other after their parents die. Along the way it deals with isolation, friendship and helping people who need it. There are also a lot of songs your kids already know every word to.

It's been a busy fall at Kennedy. Now the theatre kids get their turn. We'll update this story when the district posts dates and times.
