NICK@FRIGHT brings costumed SpongeBob and PAW Patrol to Nickelodeon Universe Oct. 23–24

TLDR: Nickelodeon Universe is putting on 2 nights of Halloween activities at Mall of America next Friday and Saturday, with character strolls, a DJ and treat bags. The treat bags come with a catch: you need a ride pass to get one.

Mall of America's indoor theme park is going full Halloween for 2 nights. NICK@FRIGHT runs Oct. 23–24 at Nickelodeon Universe, and the mall says there will be Halloween activities throughout the park, plus costumed Nickelodeon characters and live entertainment.

The main event is the Booniverse Halloween Character Stroll, with SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, and PAW Patrol's Chase and Marshall walking the park in costume. The stroll goes out at 6:30 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. Between those, DJ Glow plays from 7 to 9 p.m., and there's "Shock + Ride" dancing for anyone who wants to work off the candy.

Treat bags are handed out, but the mall says you need an Unlimited Ride Wristband or a 6-point pass to get one. Halloween merchandise in the park is also 25% off during the event.

Here's what that costs. Per the park's ticket page, a regular Unlimited Ride Wristband is $52.49, and a 6-point pass is $8.49. Buying online adds a 5% processing fee. If your kids mostly want the candy and a high-five from a cartoon dog, the $8.49 points pass is the cheap way in. Tickets are sold through the mall's ticket site.

The mall is packing the same weekend. Professional pumpkin carvers will be turning Nickelodeon characters into jack-o'-lanterns at the mall Oct. 23–24, so a full evening of orange is easy to plan. The park's Fright Lights light show also runs weekends through Oct. 31 if you can't make next weekend.

Nickelodeon Universe is at 2131 Lindau Lane, in the middle of the mall.
